Visit Salt Creek Falls in Alabama inside Talladega Ranger District a beautiful cascading waterfall and a great swimming hole below it.

As a large family, we find renting a home for a night much more relaxing than a hotel, and it's so nice to have a place nearby to crash after a long day of hiking! You can find nice, affordable homes on Vrbo.

As one of the better cascade waterfalls in Alabama, Salt Creek Falls offers a nice waterfall with a cool swimming hole below the falls for those warm summer days. Although it may look like a fun slide down, don't make that mistake as climbing and sliding are very dangerous given the steep rocks and unsure footing.

When you get there, look for a small gravel parking area with a small trail starting at the mound of dirt. The falls are a short walk, but the tough part is the descent to check out the pool below the falls.

Just remember before you stay too late in the afternoon, you'll be climbing back up after a long day swimming and in the sun!

If you're already here, you may also visit Cheaha Falls located in the south of Salt Creek Falls.  Noccalula Falls in Gadsden is also an option as it is only about an hour to the north if you want to hit two waterfalls in one day.
